An Offer to Pacific Mazda

Our Business Proposal and Previous Relationship

This web site with XML feed has been established for Pacific Mazda of Victoria. For the past 3 years we have had a link to your website from our website, VanIsle Trader.com.

Because of this link, you have helped establish VanIsleTrader.com in all of the major search engines. On a couple of occasions over the past three years we have attempted to set up a listing service for private individuals to sell their cars and trucks.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you about the problems distributing anything by email. Email marketing is pretty well dead as far as I'm concerned. Last spring we decided to stop listing used vehicles until a better solution could be found.

We have found that solution. And it presents a wonderful opportunity for both of us. It's called RSS. RSS stands for 'Real Simple Syndication'. A method of distributing information simply.

How it All Works

The way it works is you upload some information. In our case it's listings of used vehicles. You already do this every day in magazines, newspapers, tv and radio. Now, we have a way of distributing your ads to hundreds of news services almost instantly.

When you upload your ad to the website by email, it is visible usually within minutes on this webpage, loading at the top above this posting. As soon as it is added, it is simultaneously sent out to all the news services I mentioned. More and more news services are being added all the time.

Other Web Sites Display Your Ads as Content

These news services then offer the news feed to other web site operators to display on their own sites. This is the syndication in RSS. This will eventually present huge exposure. Almost all the major search engines are now relying on these news services for supplying the most up to date information for a variety of topics. What this means is that websites that publish this way are given a ride to the top of the search engines.

All it takes is a steady supply of content coming through the feed. This is what I have set up here. It will only take a few carefully selected dealerships in each town or city up and down the Island for this to work very well.

A minimum of 10 cars per month. About 1 every three days, should, over very little time start to deliver a steady stream of traffic to your listings, dealership or website. You can list as many cars as you can move through your dealership each month. You can provide whatever kind of contact information you wish. You can provide phone, email, or your web address on the bottom of every listing.

Notice that little red button near the top of the page with XML. That is your news feed. People visiting this website can subscribe to your feed just by copying the address of your news feed and entering it into their news readers. These news readers are becoming more popular with consumers of information. Yahoo and MSN began recently offering newsreaders to their members free of charge.

This method is catching on very big and has been mentioned in many places recently. In fact much of the news about the recent tsunami was distributed this way in the first few days of the disaster.

So here is my pitch. This is already set up for you. We just have to turn on the switch and it's ready to start accepting your ads by email.

You need someone who can email the ads for cars and trucks in this format:

1994 Ford Explorer XLT

Engine Size/Type: V-6 4.0 liter
Colour: Steel Blue
Mileage: 170,000 km
4WD
4 Door
5 Speed Standard Transmission
PS/PB
AM/FM Radio/CD Player
Condition: Good
Price: $7995.00

Additional Information: No rust, great on gas, cruise control and air conditioning. Locking hubs and manual transmission is rare in these vehicles. New BF Goodrich snow rated radial tires. New clutch, newly rebuilt transmission.

Post News About Sales and Events Too

You can also post any notices of sales, events or any other news about your dealership.

There is no need to worry about space and how much information to display. Text ads take very little cyber space, so the more information about the vehicle or your dealership the better for the web visitor and better for the search engines because it gives them more content to index which in turn sends us more visitors.

You will send one ad per email and I'll give you an email address for instant upload. I will check the ads and correct any mistakes. Hopefully, you'll have someone do it who won't need to be checked often saving me more work. I will be checking them though for accuracy and spelling and making them as search engine friendly as I can.

We're hoping that sometime soon we'll also be able to add photos by email. When and if we can, they will have to be stored on your domain and referenced from there. I'll be able to show you how to do that when it's available.

Any person who can use email should be able to upload the ad in several seconds. The most time involved would be writing the ad.

How Much Is This Going to Cost You?

By now I'm sure you're wondering how much this is going to cost you. Well it's not going to cost you anything more that your time to write the ad and send it. A simple text ad is mere minutes per ad.

I don't want any money from you. I will make money off the advertising around the ads. This is the way it works. I'm sure you've heard of Google. Google is the most popular search engine in the world and one of the biggest companies in the world as well. They are very wealthy and very smart about the web and the ways of the Internet.

I have been an Internet marketer and web developer for about 8 years now. I have never built a website for another business or company for money. I do own several of my own, one of which gets well over 1,000,000 visitors a year. Last March a Google representative from New York phoned me with a business proposition which involves distributing their ads on my websites.

They collect the customers, I display the ads, they send the traffic to my website and we split the money. It has worked out very well for me and is really good for website visitors because the ads are delivered dynamically and are matched to the content of the webpage.

They are also tailored to geographical regions, so the person in the US isn't looking at the same ads as someone in Canada or Sweden. These ads are just framed around your ads on my website. Other websites who'll eventually pick up your feed will display their own content around your ads as well. It's really a pretty good tradeoff.

You're in Total Control of The Content

As the creator of the content within this feed you will have control over what goes out and is displayed within the actual feed. My intention is to create other feeds related to the automobile industry for businesses to post their ads. Services such as mechanics, parts stores, detailers, auto body shops and the like will be able to upload their ad with contact information.

There will be links from the home page to these feeds. I don't plan on charging for any of this and will only allow it to grow to a managable size. If done properly and with the right team, it will take very little work for me to keep things running smoothly.

There are about 40 dealers linked on this site. I will present this offer to each of them. For some reason you happened to be on the top of the page and will have first chance. I'm not going to go around beating on anyones door. I'm sure if you look this over you can see the potential in this opportunity.

We Both Get Something We Want

It's one of those WIN-WIN situations. I get what I want by having website content created for me and you have a place to advertise for the best price you'll ever get anywhere, other than word of mouth.

It took me about 2 hours to set your site up and write this offer. Now I just have to copy it 40 more times and send the email. As soon as I get too busy, I'll shut the door to the dealers except for the ones who first jump on board with their own feeds.

I'll keep opening up feeds to the public as the need arises. Right now I just have 3 set up. One for used cars, one for used trucks, and one for RVs which will include everything from utility trailers to boats. I just started setting all this up on January 19th and am still working a few things out and testing everything. But you can get started right away if you choose.

You have nothing to lose. Just try it and see what happens. If you don't like it you can always stop sending the ads and ask for your money back. Oh yeah, there is no money involved. Well anyway I'll refund your money if you're not 100% satisfied. I have to offer some kind of guarantee I'm told.

So all you have to do is contact me by email or phone. I don't care. We don't ever have to meet. Nothing will ever be exchanged. Let me know you want to go ahead with it and I'll send you the email address for the ads and then I'll go flip the switch and make your feed live. I just renewed the domain name for this website for 4 more years, and I believe that this could be very good for both of us.

My name is Ken Bryski and you can contact me at ken@kenbryski.com or at 250-754-4026 in Nanaimo.

ps...This morning I visited the dealership where I bought my last car and they have agreed to send me their ads. So we have one on board.

Pacific Mazda is located at the corner of Yates and Cook. Also located at this corner are BMW, Chrysler, and Volvo dealerships.
